Usage
Introducing phenolic hydroxyl groups as modifying monomers enhances the curing crosslinking density, heat resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance of epoxy resins, making them suitable for high-end anticorrosive coatings and aerospace epoxy resin composites.
It is used in the preparation of insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides.
It is an intermediate for the synthesis of rubber vulcanization accelerators such as TMTM and TMTD, accelerating the rubber vulcanization reaction and improving the crosslinking degree and mechanical properties of rubber products, used in tires and rubber seals.
Through nitration, sulfonation, and diazotization reactions, it is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of azo dyes and acid dyes, used in the textile and printing and dyeing industries. The presence of the methyl group can adjust the color and dyeing fastness of the dyes.
