Usage
Cyclopentane is widely used as a substitute for Freon in the insulation materials of refrigerators and freezers, as well as a blowing agent for other rigid PU foams.
It is used to synthesize intermediates such as cyclopentanol, cyclopentanone, and cyclopentanecarboxylic acid, which are further used to prepare pharmaceutical products such as antibiotics, antiepileptic drugs, and cardiovascular drugs.
It serves as an intermediate in the synthesis of pyrethroid pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides, enhancing the biological activity and stability of these pesticides.
It is used for the extraction and separation of light oils in petrochemicals, as well as for the extraction of fat-soluble components in the food and pharmaceutical industries. After extraction, it can be easily removed by distillation without leaving any residue.
